In the British, "universal" system, all people are provided health care...to an extent. The care is abhorrent and has no time constraints on care. This is just a continuation of the crappy health care. Boys as young as 12 can get a credit card that enables them to purchase contraception. How absurd is this. Since when do 12 year olds need access to things things, regardless, this just denigrates the entire social "shame" that comes with young inappropriate sexual encounters. Can the government be charged with child pornography then, because the obvious conclusion of 12 year olds possessing contraception is in fact sex. So they are aiding and abetting in juvenile misconduct and sexuality and nudity. Is that a crime? I would say so, and the future of these children looks bleak, now that they are used to having sex at will and with whomever. Who says they won't go for a nostalgic romp in the forest when they are just a few years older?
This is a sad statement about the social bearings of Britain and of the whole as a whole. The shame that comes with committing some crimes is lost and the sexual battle is all but being lost in a legal sense. Now I am just waiting for the first country/state to pass a law allowing sexual conduct from 12 years old or higher and legalizing that for all persons. How long will it take for that law to pass? How long after that law is passed will it take form them to again lower the age from 12 to who knows? maybe 8? This is a sad and sick statement about the morality of the world. Sodom and Gomorrah here we come!
Will someone have the guts to stand up and fight against this? Who has the gusto? Well, besides me that is?

I don't think it's the contraceptives that are encouraging the sexual behavior in young teens, that influence seems to be coming from all forms of media.
ReplyDeleteSome teens are going to have sex. That's just the way it is. It's up to parents and schools to provide the education and moral framework so their kids *know* they shouldn't be having sex when so young. If they are, though, I'd rather they be able to access and use contraceptives than not.
Compare this to Sweden. They also have a government funded healthcare system, begin sex education in schools at the age of 6, and have clinics that provide youngsters with contraceptives. By your argument, they should be even worse. So how do they compare to the US?
Teen births: US 49/1000 Sweden 7/1000
Sexually active kids under 15 years old: US 14% Sweden 12%
Teenage Gonorrhea cases : 600 times higher in the US than Sweden. Six Hundred.
So, as you say, how absurd is this?
